Kingston
Kingston was originally built at the first crossing of the river Thames upstream from London Bridge. Kingston Bridge still occupies the site, connecting Kingston with Ham. Visitors can also see the pretty market square and the King-Stone which is said to mark the spot where Saxon kings were crowned.
Situated between Surbiton and Richmond, Kingston today boasts a lively shopping district, most of which is pedestrianised and which includes the Bentalls shopping centre and major department stores as well as quaint shops and cafes tucked away in its lanes and back-streets.
Kingston boasts great transport links, good schools and an array of leisure and entertainment facilities. Nearby Hampton Court Palace, historic seat of Henry VIII, Richmond Park, Bushy Park and tree lined river side walks make Kingston a great place to live and visit.
